After reading about blogger Raed Jarrar's experience at JFK (he was forced to take off a shirt with Arabic writing on it or miss his flight), I finally stopped being depressed about the war on terror and began being proactively ed off.

I love this T-Shirt. I hate that they harrassed this poor man because he said he was not a terrorist, in a language only a few can read here in the USA.

They hae no right, I have given up flying. I would love to give up driving, but I don't have time yet to just ride a horse or bike around, it would take forever to travel that way.

What is Arabic writing going to do to the plane? What a crock. This is just another example of powerless people being put in a position of power and given no supervision of how they use that power.

As a person of indeterminate racial makeup (I could be a mix of almost anything), I don't mind being interrogated. I recently flew, and got there WAY early to make sure, if questioned, I had plenty of time to get to my flight. This is the new world we live in-- get used to it.

Is it inconvenient? Yes. But until Southern rock bands or vegetarian Eskimos or comic book store owners become the statistically most prevalent form of terrorist, there's a certain reality we have to face...

There's nothing in the Constitution about your "right to fly." It's a question of safety, and it's human nature to expect everyone to be jumpy right now. And if you're going to hop on board a big piece of metal full of fuel that flies through the air with my happy tush on it, you're going to do what you're told by whomever tells you. WHY? Because there's no reasonable expectation of privacy when you board an airplane. There never has been.

They aren't kicking down your door, they are asking questions.

Now we know how we create terrorists and those who hate us. Its call misuse of power, and then we love it. That's why I think there shouldn't be one country so powerful. Eventually power make a country or its citizens to become Germany or before that Great Britten.

Chanrei you hit the nail on the head.

In the words of the comic strip character Pogo: "We have met the enemy and he is us".
