Do No Evil – Folks, ZeigfeldGirl just got banned cos she was returning Neophiles favors (IE. sinking & neg'ing him, OK, plus diss'in him too.). This is pathetic, as he has been doing the same to ZG for some time.

ZG's comments were banned because she was spamming comment threads. At issue is not what she was saying so much as the way she chose to voice it. She was repeating the same comments in multiple threads. This is not only spamming behavior, but harassment.
We will be banning comments of anyone taking this tactic on Netscape.
If people agree to stop this behavior and instead act civilly, contact an Anchor with concerns such as this that they have, and actually have the patience to wait while we look into the issue, then we will reinstate their commenting abilities.
While we highly value the input of our members on Netscape, we are a social news site and we cannot have a notably small portion of our members hijacking the site, the comment threads, and the homepage and squeezing out the real news with their unrelated issues. For that reason, I'm closing this story.

Hey and while we are complaining. On a side note. when i clicked on the arrow down button on the righr of contrast comment, to add this comment. It landed under greenmac comment. so I had to edit, and add contrast name. what a pain. Who is the I.T. people around here? My husband is always telling me that this site has crappy set up. And yea they do!! I always have to log in time after time. Where's the brains around here???
Among all the anger at seeing a thoughtful contributor (ZG) banned for pointing out what one of the staff does on a regular basis I see a lot of anger at the staff here at Netscape. Is that because they show so little concern for the community they are trying to build? I wonder if the 100k plus membership would help them sustain the advertising that pays their salaries if people like ZG were not part of this community?
gordon, take a deep breath. I had exactly the same reaction. I sent off two messages, one to Dakota and one to CK. I think they were reasonable respectful considering the dasdardly behavior, but I expect no reply...the only member of staff that has ever extended the courtesy of replying to a message I sent was Karina.

Now are as far as ZeigfeldGirl, she sunk my storey and left a very negative comment on the piece I posted. Whatever!

So here you have a person who sinks the post,leaves a negative comment, and has not even watched the post in question!
How is that acting like constructive contributor?
spigot, I'll bet if we go through every post we have all made on Netscape, we will find a few examples of things we wish we had not put into print. I will also bet that if the names were removed from the posts we would all disagree with ourselves from time to time.
The point is that for the most part, ZG makes a valuable contribution to this site, and the reason for banning her is not valid.
Now putting my clothing back on...my portion of the nude protest is over...everyone has suffered enough.
When we had the first discussion on the sink, I posted this
"What i would like to see avoided here is a "sink war". Some of the stories are of interest to a limited amount of viewers and would be sunk very early in the day."
You now see the results of the sink feature. The outcome was very predictable. Why has this happened?
