Wow... This is what happens when our children have to learn about sex from their peers instead of their parents. Let's face it, it's human to have sex and kids will find a way whether we teach them or not.
It seems obvious to me that preaching abstinence and basically lying to our children is no longer working. I think it's time to remove the taboo and start having open and honest dicsussions with our kids so that they can make informed decisions.
The worst part of this whole story is that they're charging these kids with a crime. Having sex is not the crime - it's the ignorance of the adults in this scenario.

the more you suppress it, the more it pops out at the end.. sorta like pressing down too hard on dough. The ends will stick out even uglier if you force things down.. I'm not sure if that's the best analogy, but when you're exposed to sex through simple pornography, and with the sense that it is an explicit thing you should hide from authorities, this is what happens.
