  whether it's the times (which i can't stand) or cnn, or fox or any of the other political party mouthpieces, the issue remains....the war in iraq is not only a failure, it was unconstitutional from the outset.

  It's this country's foreign policy that needs a change - we need a new direction, fast; one where we don't meddle in the affairs of other countries, topple governments, invade nations, kill civilians, spend billions to prop up foreign dictators and on and on and on...

  Then, and only then, will we have real peace and prosperity in this country.

  Child bush was given the job of POTUS by the surprem court as a christmas present. the first thing he wanted to do was play with his new army, see how it worked. So he took it out from under the christmas tree and sent it to Iraq and broke it. now the adults need to take it back and try to fix it.

  The only way this nation will be able to fix this mess is to start new. We no longer have any standing in the world and never will as long as the idiot is in charge. Maybe we could work out an agreement for him and the vp to resign and gives us our country back. They have had it long enough

    You said it. What's it going to take to get that idiot to see reality. He is totally without morals, ethics or compassion. If he gace a damn about the service personnel, he'd have removed them from harm's way long ago.

    As a nation we have lost ay respect we may once have had, our volunteer army has been largely wasted, our national debt will take generations to pay off and our constitution has been trampled on. When are we going to get enough and rise up and demand better of our elected officals?

  The sentiment in Islam about Bush will mirror the feelings the Democrats have about Bush. No matter what Bush does, there is nothing but hatred. In the case of the Democrats, even legitimate daily functions, meetings and conversations by the President will be portrayed as some evil criminal enterprise. All of which is designed to influence the 2008 election in favor of the Democrats. In the process, if America is made to look evil, stupid, criminal and colonial; as long as the Democrats win in 2008, there are no costs too high, no sacrifices too sacred.

  However, in Islam, the hatred of Bush is just skin deep, rather only spoken when a religious fanatic is close by. Secretly, the power elites in Islam are really happy Saddam is gone and thrilled that The Taliban is hiding in caves because the same hatred for Bush is only one turn away from the Islamic ruling elite.

  What I find so sad is the Democrats are doing more harm than the Jihaddies. Only in America do we tolerate such crap.

  True. Sad but true. Just read up on Harkin Oil and the Texas Rangers Stadium Deal. It is a shame more voters did not inform themselves about "W's" business past and see that he either failed or ripped of taxpayers for everything he "earned".

    (Regretfully), much truth in the article. Still, GWB recovered himself from being a garden variety lush (and perhaps pot-head) to something better than that. So I have to give him credit for something. It would be interesting, if he were reflective, to know how this experience shaped/affected him.

  What Bush has demonstrated is that the office of the President is literally a dictator position. He can defy Congress and American public.

  It is high time the country change over to a parliamentary form of government and replace the Presidency with the position of Prime Minister.

  The majority party can vote him out if he becomes a stubborn dictator.

    There are problems with the parliamentary system too. Once elected, a majority government can do pretty well anything they want, at least until the next election. Depending on the number of parties in a country and how the votes are distributed, 40% or so of the votes may be enough to form a majority government, which means that the wishes of 60% of the voters may be ignored. Minority governments are good in my opinion, because they can be voted out during their term if the other parties agree with each other to kick them out.

  If Iraqis through their elected representatives /actually/ say they want to sort out the mess in their country by themselves, we ought to let them.

  If they end up with a binding resolution, that is it. We pull out.
