Here is an excerpt from another article that may interest some of you. It shows the depth of Blackwater's corruption and the involvement of our government in covering these atrocities up.
"The report was written out of the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security, the folks who hired Blackwater to provide security for US diplomats in Iraq. But it turns out that the State Department employee who interviewed the Blackwater folks and wrote the report, Darren Hanner ... well, he wasn't a State Department employee. He was another contractor from Blackwater."

Yall just dont unnerstand our ideeologie of privatizin all aspect of goverment!
Dontcha remember Ronald Reagan preachin - 'The goverment IS the problem!'
Well, GW is liek that!
Thats why he dismantled FEMA and stuffed it full of incompetent political supporterts - liek minded in their view that the federal goverment is worthless.
Since we conservatives see goverment as worthless - we also see the poeple it governs as worthless too. After all, goverment is the expression of poeple - actin in a collective!
Nope the only entity that we Conservatives liek is Corporations!
See, a soldier is a citizen - not a corporation! As stated, we prefer to only work with corporations.
Humans are so - independent and thats our main problem with them.

This is extremely frightening to me. Blackwater - they are killers without conscience. Mitt Romney is using these guys? I could tell by looking at him that he has no soul. None of these people have souls - these are the so called family values people - they have no values or morals or conscience or souls. Is there no end to their ties with completely morally bankrupt people and killers without consciences?
You have well said up to this point.
If Jesus died on the cross for the sinners or the sins of mankind, he already forgiven Blackwater dudes, and those who are going to kill in the future as well, there is no sin in killing or even wiping out the entire population. What makes you think a Christian nation killing millions of people of other faiths is wrong when America dropped an atom bomb in in Japan, already America knew Jesus had forgiven her and he has given a license to kill anyone one other then Christians. The entire world will wake up to see these realities soon.

The level of corruption in our government has risen to the point that it's no longer able to keep everything contained. I hope the investigation of Blackwater exposes the crimes it's committed and must be held accountable for them. As on another thread, it's been pointed out that Blackwater is not accountable to the Iraq government and also the US government. They are above the laws of Iraq and the US. This is not acceptable. Congress needs to pass a law to redress this travesty.

In one of the stories yesterday, I expressed concern about the possible use of these CONTRACTORS agains the citizens of the US... that's right,us.... I could not believe the answers I got telling me there was no reason for concern, because we are an ARMED nation.. and just simply would not tolerate being herded into camps, which are already build by FEMA...
Many people have NO CLUE how well trained and HOW WELL ARMED these people are.. they are better equipped than the troops we deploy to Iraq.. simply because they BUY THE BEST... not what makes some congressman's district happy...
BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID......

Very troubling... a story about Brittney Spears has twice as many posts as the 150 Billion war funding story and most other stories that actually might deal with SOMETHING important.
no wonder it's so easy for this administration to get away with sh*t.... PEOPLE JUST DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH REALITY.. WHEN BRITTNEY IS SHOWING HER N**KIE...

I can't believe the ties Prince has with the radical right wing, along with his family, and in turn the ties to Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush Sr, & others. And he certainly has POURED money into the GOP and radical xtian groups.
Blackwater made roughly $73 million for Katrina-related government work by June of 2006, less than a year after Katrina hit. The CONS have helped create another dynasty of thugs, with OUR money.
Prince says that 'roughly' 90% of their contracts are federal. Again, OUR money. In today's hearing, he said "the government issues us our weapons." WHAT? We're paying between $900.00-$1200.00 per DAY for each of blackwater's employees, and we're also paying for their weapons????? A PRIVATE company has the key to the U.S. weapons closet?

It is not a secret that George Bush is an international criminal after Hitler. Hitler Killed Jews, Russians, Germans, Chinese and other nationalities but George Bus exclusively kills Muslims and supports Israel and other proxies whom he thinks is the friend of America. He wants to kill any Muslim who opposes his foreign policy, his policy of killing until he thinks that world's oil recourses are for America only.

Oh no! George W. Bush invovled with dirt murdering scumbag mercs. Next you will be telling us that we did'nt really vote for him, swiftboat vets is a neoconic lie created by Roe, there was no evidence of WMDs in Iraq, and Cheney is Satans long lost love child.

Don't be too hard on Blackwater; they are the only thing standing between you and a military draft. What is sad though, is these kids who joined out of patriotism and sense of duty, watching their Commander and Chief pay these gung ho mercs ten times more then what he pays them for doing the same job.

This is one of the most disturbing aspects of this war. The war profiteering is blatant.
The private contractors should not be in Iraq. Period.
But then, nor should our soldiers...
I'm sure Eisenhower and Truman are SPINNING in their graves!

As an American citizen I spend a considerable portion of my time overseas visiting different countries.
Most of the time I have felt the pride of being American.
In the last few years I feel Bush and his clooney's have confiscated such pride from me and perhaps from many others like me.
Reply-

blinkers10 months, 3 weeks ago
You're absolutely correct, Macondo. The speed with which America's prestige, image and reputation, internationally, have evaporated over the last few years is truly lamentable.
The reasons for this loss in trust and respect can be laid wholly at the feet of the Neo-Cons and "their man" in the White House, George W. Bush -- a president whose legacy will make Richard Nixon seem like a saint.

Why do people think there's been no draft? Soon our great government will have a completely contracted military to do their bidding anywhere they choose. They'll tell us it's such a great deal. None of will have to serve and they'll rave about how it saves money. They know our own military would be unlikely to turn against us, but hired thugs would have no problem at all. For anyone interested in getting an idea as to what they're up to, go to "Projectcensored.org" There are some interesting articles to be read.
