"Perhaps it still has time to save the two-state solutionâ;;and itselfâ;;by doing what it should have done long ago: through bilateral agreement, it should have dismantled the settlements and withdrawn to the lines of 1967."
It is true--Israel MUST negotiate with a people it has sworn NEVER to negotiate with. It must grant those it despises control of their own territory and their own government. Or else Israel will inevitably, one day soon, cease to exist as a Jewish state.

There is already a two state solution. The other state is called Jordan. You'd have to be historically stupid not to realize that Jordan sits on 2/3 of Palestine and was originally created in 1922 to be a Palestinian homeland. Or at least that was the British intended when they created the Hashamite kingdom.

In this case, each and every nation that will "eventually agree" that the Palestinians have the right to vote in THEIR states should allow them to do just that.
In the meantime the Palestinians have the right to vote in their own quasi-state. They've democratically elected their own government led by Hamas and are enjoying the fruits of their decision for a couple of years now.
As a matter of fact, Palestinians ALREADY HAVE a state, even two (yes, in addition to Jordan). They have two territories, one in the West Bank and the other in Gaza. They have TWO governments, one under Abbas and the other under Hamas. They have budget, military, police, jails, corrupted officials, etc. If they do not want to CALL what they have a 'state' it's up to them.
