Google has unilaterally redrawn the map of North America, kicking Mexico out.

    Central America is not a continent. All of Central America is part of North America, all the way down to, but not including Colombia.

    That said, there a a number of factors that complicate the situation. There not being a good word to call someone who is a U.S. citizen, many of us refer to ourselves as 'Americans' which mildly offends many of the citizens of other American countries.

    Mexicans who are trying to be polite have a choice in calling us Estado Unidenses which is a mouthful or gueros which is problematic in that it refers to those of us who have a fair complexion, or Norte Americanos although they too are Norte Americanos.

      Well you forgot Gringo and Gabacho =P, but I think that at least the first is offensive to some people, I actually say "Estadounidense" in spanish and "US Citizen" or "from the US" in english.
