Aren't you the idiot that claimed the rantings of a Taliban/Al-Quaida blog saying they were running scared (which was, of course, a US government run propaganda blog) were 100% truth. Despite no evidence. Despite your usual rants against Muslims and Muslim blogs?

Jovial even the Guardian acknowledges Bushes policies ARE WORKING!
Guardian AQ all but defeated in Iraq
The Guardian, not known for its support of the war in Iraq or the Bush administration's policies there, admits two crucial points today: al-Qaeda has lost Iraq, and the surge of American troops provided the means for their defeat. The paper couches this in fears of a new front for AQ, in reality the potential on two existing fronts, but cannot escape the conclusion that the forward strategy against the terrorist network in both Iraq and Afghanistan has worked:

By destroying the security in Iraq and causing a civil war the Bush Administration invited al Queda to open branch offices in Iraq. That we have taken the fight to them is a misinterpretation of events.
Because of the Iraqi invasion and occupation was unwarranted and was the result of a massive propaganda campaign to morph the effort to get the terrorist involved in 9-11 into support for the invasion plan hundreds of thousands of people have died and millions put at risk. We should be glad people are only dying in the single digits each day? We should be glad al Queda, who was never in Iraq pre-invasion, is almost through? I'll give you that it's better than breaking it and then leaving it to al Queda, but the plan was a strategic blunder from the start.

Why would BL drain his resources to get his fighters into Iraq when resistance, insurgency and terror were already in full swing shortly after we invaded? I think "al-Qaeda in Iraq" is/was insurgents (probably Suni for the most part) who decided to call themselves "al-Queda". I don't think we are really fighting the al-Qaeda that attacked us, at least not in Iraq, but at the same time, I think our actions have increased membership in al-Qaeda. We need to shore up our borders and ports of entry, and go after the al_Qaeda that attacked us. It's time for the Iraqis to settle their own future. We have given them all the tools and opportunity.

What I find interesting and kinda spooky about the media blackout is that for the longest time, we've heard complaints from those on the right that there were no "positive" stories about Iraq being run. Now that we hardly hear *any* news about what's going on there (other than the occasional vague rah rah opinion piece here and there that the "surge" is "working") the silence from right wingers is deafening. I guess if there aren't any stories to dispute, the administration can avoid the glare of being caught in lies (as they have repeatedly in the past).

There's the view the media and the Neocon's want us to see. Then there's another view we hear from those who have been there.
Personally I believe in those I have talked to who have been there and they are saying things are getting worse.

It was awful the way the international community looked down on Clinton and the office of the Presidency because of his unforgivable behavior. Oh...Wait, I'm thinking of our current President, George W Bush. Nevermind...

" ... there are still unidentified dead bodies found in Baghdad but most of the well-known channels don't mention it ... it has a range of about 5 dead bodies daily ... and if anyone wants to be sure all he have to do is to pass by the forensic medicine building and he would see the shocking number of coffins and people crying their beloved ones."
Yeah ... things are going just 'great' in Iraq, if you listen to FOX or NBC ...
This is so sad, so horrific, so undeniably CRIMINAL - this is what the U.S. has wrought in Iraq.
Shameful ...

Actually, you're 100% wrong (I live here) but at least we agree that, if that were really the case, our troops would absolutely have no business whatsoever trying to quell violence continents away from our shores while our own people were killing one another in worse numbers. And don't get me wrong, we don't have any business there, as it is (so don't think for a moment that I believe we should be there).

"there are more dead bodies than that in DC in a day."
If you mean unidentified bodies of murder victims, Klarissa, then:
nonsense.

And even if your usual misdirection comment were true, that makes the carnage we've caused OK?

Yeah, Fox stopped updating its 'Fallen Heroes of Operation Iraqi Freedom' list August of last year.
From a Fox internal memo: "Do not fall into the easy trap of mourning the loss of U.S. lives and asking out loud 'Why are we there?'"
