Posted By bigurn 3 months ago in NewsSusan Atkins, one of Charles Manson's most ardent followers and the killer of Sharon Tate, was denied "compassionate release". One has to wonder if Ms. Atkins showed Sharon Tate and her unborn baby any level of compassion when she scrawled "Die Pigs, Die" on the walls in Tate's blood.

This woman is where she belongs. Murder is heinous enough, but these people she was with tortured their victims. She needs to be in prison.

No one gets out alive, in prison or out. I have enormous compassion for those she harmed. It's the right decision not to release her. We are showing her compassion by providing the medical and spiritual resources she needs to get her through to the end--and by letting her live in the first place.

actually, the Manson murders were all sentenced to death, but because it takes forever to execute someone, after they were convicted and before they were executed, the US Supreme Court decided that the death penalty, as they were written then, were cruel and unusual punishment. California had no provision at the time for life without the possibility of parole, so these guys have been applying (and being denied parole) since the 1980's, I think.

The Manson family is the only reason the California Parole Board hangs on to its great big red rubber "DENIED!!" stamp.

Gee you think?
Who in they're right mind would let this turd out? They would need a brain retread if they even consider it! Let her die and fry in you-know-what.
Her, and the rest of her ilk.

She deserves to die alone and in prison for what she did to Tate and the others and for what she was actually planning. (trutv.com) She is a horrible disgusting example of a human that exists. The 4 million the state of California has spent on her incarceration should be paid back by the pitiful remants of her family.

If I were her, I'd be so damned ashamed of what I had done to Sharon Tate and the stupid singing AFTERword, that I'd never WANT to have my face seen. I'd be too embarrassed to even THINK of trying to get out. I WOULD try to contact the state and say, "Hey, do you need a HUMAN guinea pig to experiment on? I don't care if it's risky, if it results in me dying in agoney, looking like a lumpy cancer mush in the process, so BE it. AtLEAST I tried to redeem myself a little by possibly contributing to the curing of cancer and saving some poor MOUSE some suffering."

Well, how about releasing her not out of compassion but because she's become a burden to California taxpayers? In her present condition she obviously poses no threat to anyone. Let her family pick up the cost of maintaining her for the rest of her life. It'll give them some satisfaction and save the state thousands of dollars at the same time. And in her present condition, will a few more months in prison make any difference to her? She certainly will not gain any measure of additional remorse for her crimes nor will the state keep California safer by holding on to her. Release her and let her family deal with the burden of keeping her alive and maintaining her daily existence. Makes common cents (and collars) to me.

Maybe she shoulld have been given the death penalty ???
All this would not be happening..
She certainly deserved it..why was she saved from it???
Life without parole--does not make sense--if they are that bad--kill them...
