Proponents of the measure were able to collect more than 12,000 signatures, including those from three members of the Board of Supervisors, to put it on the ballot, according to the Erotic Service Providers Union, the labor group backing the measure. The same group was unsuccessful in putting a similar measure on the ballot in 2006.

As it is victimless, it should be legal. There would be less spread of disease since both the John and the prostitute would be pretested. Taxes could be collected. It would lessen the burden on our prison and legal system saving much needed money.

No one would be forced into a compromising situation or controlled by criminals

I have never used a prostitute but see no reason it should be a crime to do so. What two people agree to do together(have sex)should be no body's business but theirs.

If the girls receive most of the money I'm OK with it. It's when the slimy pimps and general users and abusers get involved that problems occur. The girls at the Nevada Brothels (I'm told) get tested for AID/HIV and general STD's on a regular bases. The government taxes and regulates the health testing schedule.

"If a certain crime is overwhelming local law enforcement just to what Reno/Washoe County, Nevada does, legalize it. Gambling and Prostitution are both legal in Nevada, Hell, if they legalized methamphetamine we could have weekends off".

        I agree with Harbeas.

It should be the choice of the two consenting adults.

But these girls need to be protected from slimy pimps and others that would hurt them.

It need to be somewhat regulated like they do in Nevada

To prevent diseases being spread to the girls and their customers.

        Legalize Marijuana ,not meth.

Tweeker geekers cause more crimes than stoners.
