I agree. The security of owning one's own home goes a long way to give children a stable environment, & their parent(s) a lot less stress which again contributes to family stability.

The government is already making me pay taxes to support a war that I was against. Don't ask me to pay for anything else. I am against this. Why should I work to buy someone else a house.

Well this article is about 2 years to late. Does anyone else find this site as useless as I do? How can I have affordable housing when I have to pay for someone else's.

I was skeptical on this and looked at the article.

Then I read the "contributors note"

The last sentence was: "WHO creates all these Katrinas, floods, greed & disasters that ruin our land and our people's lives?"

If the author has to ask who creates all these natural disasters, and then lumps them in with those who are too greedy, I seriously doubt that they have the grey matter neccessary to formulate a valid opinion as to who should pay for public housing.

No, there isn't a need for a housing trust fund. Instead, all those who feel that the poor should have a place to call thier own, set a sign out in your yard offering free room and board...
