Three Words »
Posted By tehranchik 3 months ago in NewsThink about what the Palin pick really says about how McCain views this campaign and how he views his potential responsibilities in national security.
Think about what it says about the sincerity of McCain's own central criticism of Obama these past two months in foreign affairs.
Think about how he picked a woman to be a heartbeat away from a war presidency who hadn't even thought much, by her own admission, about the Iraq war as late as 2007.
Think about how he made this decision barely knowing the woman.

Palin a 'trophy girl'????????????!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply
Ok.... got it ......so Flyboy John likes 'trophy girls' and OBama likes infanticide, domestic terrorists, angry Afro-American preachers, and criminals so therefore Fly boy John shows bad judgement in picking a female that is the Gov of Alaska as his VP and therefore can't in any way be a competent politician.
OK..... or maybe..... OBama didn't pick Hillary because she is not a 'trophy girl' or maybe because she isn't a 'street tough' Gangsta Girl with kids, colors, and thug cred.. Well, so much for the ..."about 18 million cracks..." in that glass ceiling.

The way Russia is acting in Georgia(see MajJohn's post) it looks like Version 2 of the Cold War is about to start if it already hasn't with the possibility of things getting hot quick.

Putting, Country, Last.
Reply
Interesting choice of words.
You know, Johnny McCain is NOT the originator of this mindset.
The Concept of PUTTING, COUNTRY, LAST was a natural derivation of Newt Gingrich's 'Republican Revolution'.
PUTTING ... COUNTRY ... LAST.
How true.
Look, the essence of the Neo-Conservative Ideology all centers around TWO platforms.
1) A TRICKLE-DOWN ECONOMY
2) Creating a vast Military Industrial Complex ... that they control ... a private army as it were ... like a State-side Blackwater, Inc.
Interestingly, one feeds the other.
With a Trickle Down Economy, less and less opportunity is available for our youth. They are then funneled into the Military. Which, as it grows into an ever larger behemoth, sucks up our youth. THAT'S the Giant Sucking Sound that Ross Perot heard.
Look at what Neo-Cons have done to our economy. They are the absolute WORST Government managers.
Ever wonder why?
Because they don't care.
Neo-Cons campaign with slogans such as .... 'Government isn't the SOLUTION ... Government is the PROBLEM."
So they get to office, and they set about PROVING that Government cannot work.
PUTTING .... COUNTRY .... LAST.
Remember how Newt Gingrich SHUT DOWN the ENTIRE Government in a tiff with Bill Clinton?
Shut the whole ding dang government down. All over a personal slight he perceived from Bill.
PUTTING ... COUNTRY ... LAST.
And what about the endless investigation of Bill Clinton .... that's where the whole MOVE ON movement was born ... because Americans were SICK and TIRED of Neo-Conservative Republicans ... PUTTING ... COUNTRY .... LAST.
I used to think McCain was different.
This last year I learned otherwise.
He joined the crowd that revels in ... PUTTING .... COUNTRY .... LAST. It's the one thing about Neo-Conservatism that I am ABSOLUTELY SURE OF. -

In another thread, I posted a comment that ended with a similar conclusion. I put it another way: that McCain's selection of an appallingly unqualified Palin showed that McCain cared only about his election and not at all about the Nation's interests.

I can't really agree with that first sentence, I'm sorry. For all we know her husband could be a stay at home dad or be willing to fulfill that role. While I don't particularly believe that I'd ever vote for Palin, I don't find her large family to be of great concern.

The OBama campaign has proven that the bar has been lowered to become President; all you gotta do now is have people chant 'change we can believe in', give cool JFK like speeches, and the world will eat out of your hand. Experience is no longer necessary.

Hummmmmm........... that gives me an idea. Where is my third son at ..... he needs a job other than playing video games all day long. I think he could become a great new age politician; he does talk good smack when confronted with a problem like 'when are you going to get a job' and God knows he is great at making excuses for being a slacker.

Bush/Cheney and the past 8 years have shown that America wants Change. Obama just delivered the right message. Bush/Cheney started a useless war in Iraq, discontinued their search for Bin Ladin. Bush/Cheney policies led to the devaluation of the almighty dollar. Bush/Cheney cut spending and funding for public schools, social security, medicare. Bush/Cheney don't take care of our war veterans, to the point where they are wandering the streets begging for money.
